Summary: This book is about two friends whose relationship is put to the test. Ken'ichi Nishimura's (one of the two friends) family is abducted by the government after the bombing of Pearl Harbour. Paula Harmon (the second person of the two friends) is left looking after the Nishimura's Farm while the family who used to inhabit it are in a concentration camp in Poston Camp II, Arizona. This book is based on the two lives of Paula and Ken, fighting to keep their friendship tied and someday meet each other again.
